This 2-Day workshop is the first in a full series on Social Media and Open Government Planning  and Implementation to facilitate accomplishing the President's vision of a more transparency, participatory and collaborative government as well as meeting OMB requirements for social media and open government based on the  Open Government Directive (OMB M-10-06)View the ongoing Open Government Directive series. Planning and implementing social media and open government efforts to to achieve the President's goal of a more transparent, participatory and collaborative government and fulfill the requirements of OMB's Open Government Directive (m-10-06) requires executives and managers to think differently about strategy, policy, governance, and performance management. We will go cover creating strategies and  cross-functional Open Government Teams to facilitate the implementation of social media and open government efforts.  We will also present how to evaluate organizational changes, a methodology for planning and implementing social media and open government efforts, a method to evaluate social media tools, understanding the principles of public engagement and knowledge management,  streamline policy creation around open government requirements and use of social media, and develop overall strategies to better accomplish agency mission goals and objectives.
